Golconda Fort
Golconda Fort is one of the most magnificent fortress complexes in India. It is located on the outskirts of the city of Hyderabad, the capital of the state of Andhra Pradesh. Golconda has been known as famous center for diamonds, and the diamond mines boast of some of the most renowned diamonds in the world.
IMAX Theater Hyderabad
The opening of the IMAX Theater in Hyderabad marks a new epoch in the evolution of Indian cinema. Having revolutionized the movie viewing experience world wide, this technology is all set to make a paradigm shift in the Indian Cinema as well. The fact that our capital city has the first IMAX Theater in the entire South India ipso facto makes this event more significant to us. Prasad's IMAX theater that was flagged off to the Hyderabad public on 25th of July has the following distinctions

This Prasad's IMAX multiplex is located on the banks of Hussain Sagar lake at the heart of Hyderabad. This IMAX multiplex is a part of Buddha Purnima project area, which is an initiative of AP Tourism department. With this, Prasad joins the big league of 225 IMAX theaters that are spread across 30 countries.

The Prasad's IMAX theater features world's most powerful projector that beams on 29 meters wide and 21.93 meters high screen. It also has a six channel sound system that puts across 12,000 watts of digital surround sound. There are 44 custom designed speakers equipped at strategic places in the theater to give the complete digital experience. This IMAX screen has 15-perforation and 70 mm format instead of usual 5-perforation and 70mm format. The 'rolling loop' technique ensures the smooth run of the movie on the screen.
Necklace road
The new Necklace road ends/starts here, skirting the lake shore and once some greenery grows it will be very popular. N. T. Rama Rao's memorial is here too, and an 'amusement park'. The necklace road is getting popular. There are "Laser fountains" on the Necklace road. During holidays people of Hyderabad swarm on the banks of the lake to view the lighting and reflections of the well lighted constructions around the lake.
To the north of the Hussain Sagar is the area of Begumpet, where the airport is located. A large road runs through the narrow strip of land between the airport and the lake, connecting Secunderabad to Ameerpet on the west.
Budha Statue
Right in the middle of the lake a gigantic stone Buddha statue stands in benediction. It is said to be the second biggest free standing monolith statue in the world, being 18 metres high and weighing 350 tonnes. On the dam, beside the road, there is a wide swath of grass lawn and flowering plants. There are bronze statues of luminaries of Andhra Pradesh down the centuries all along the road.
A 13th century queen, Kakatiya Rudramma reins in a bronze horse, Arthur Cotton a scottish (!) civil engineer who planned the dams which irrigated large tracts of the region, extremely popular people's writers and poets.
